STANDING ORDER 93-3

THE MIDDLE DISTRICT OF PENNSYLVANIA

 

IN RE:  Designation of Certain United States

         Magistrate Judges in the District of

                 Maryland to serve in the Middle District

of Pennsylvania.


JOINT ORDER

        It appearing to the Judges of the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the District of Maryland:

        2. That the Honorable John H. McDowell, a part-time United States Magistrate Judge whose official station was Hagerstown, Maryland has been appointed a Circuit Judge for Washington County, Maryland and the United States District Court for the District of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of part-time U.S. Magistrate Judge for the District of Maryland at Hagerstown, Maryland;

        3. That the Middle District of Pennsylvania is desirous of continuing the Magistrate Judge's handling of matters emanating from the Fort Ritchie Military Post including the portion thereof lying within the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

        4. Now, therefore, it is ORDERED, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Sec. 636(f), that United States Magistrate Judges Clarence E. Goetz, Paul M. Rosenberg, Daniel E. Klein, Catherine C. Blake and Deborah K. Chasanow, of the District of Maryland, be and they are hereby designated and authorized to conduct the duties set forth at 28 U.S.C. Sec. 636(a) within or with respect to the Middle District of Pennsylvania until the appointment of a new part-time Magistrate Judge whose official station is Hagerstown, Maryland. It is further

        5. ORDERED that the duties of said United States Magistrate Judges on behalf of the Middle District of Pennsylvania shall, until further Order of these Courts, include those duties in matters emanating from Fort Ritchie Military Post including the portion thereof  lying within the Middle District of Pennsylvania. It is further

        6. ORDERED that the designation herein made shall be entered of record in each of the captioned Courts and that the Clerk for the Middle District of Pennsylvania shall direct a certified copy of this Order to the Administrative Office of the United States Courts; and that the Clerk of the District of Maryland direct a certified copy of this Order to the United States Magistrate Judges designated herein.
