How are the courtroom spectator seats assigned? There are approximately forty (40) seats available for public seating in the courtroom. Seating passes will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the 4th floor, beginning sixty (60) minutes before the start of the trial and must be seated within twenty (20) minutes of the beginning of court. Passes may not be reserved in advance for members of the public. |

Members of the media must contact Kevin Calpin, Operations Manager, by phone (570.207.5601) or e-mail to be placed on a list for seating assignment. There are approximately forty (40) seats available for media seating in the courtroom. If all organizations on the waiting list cannot be seated in the courtroom, priority will be given to the local press and those with the largest audiences. Representatives of the media are required to produce press credentials in order to receive a press pass for assigned seating. Only one representative of each news organization will be seated, unless additional media seats remain after representatives of all news organizations have entered the courtroom. Press passes and seating for the trial will begin sixty (60) minutes prior to court beginning. The first day of trial court is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. Members of the media who are not in their seats twenty (20) minutes prior to the beginning of court will forfeit their seat for that session of court. |

How will the court’s security measures affect spectators? All spectators must be seated twenty (20) minutes before the start of proceedings. Visitors enter the courthouse through the building’s entrance on North Washington Avenue. Visitors are required to show a driver’s license or a similar photo ID issued by a government agency. Visitors are required to walk through a magnetometer and their bags are screened by an x-ray machine. All persons and belongings are subject to search.
