Lawyers' Advisory Committee

Mission Statement

"The mission of the Committee is to provide an open method of communication between the Bench and the Bar on matters of concern to each."

The Lawyers’ Advisory Committee serves the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania in achieving, dispensing and administering justice in a fair, impartial, effective and efficient manner. The work of the Committee includes:
  • Serving as a liaison and method of communication between the bench, the bar, and the public;
  • Discussing with the court matters the committee or the court believes might improve the administration of justice;
  • Undertaking projects as requested by the court; and
  • Reviewing and/or proposing local rules and procedures to the Local Rules Committee in an effort to improve court proceedings.
